All of the reserved cabins for The Dardanelles Sierra Ride on July 24-25 have filled, so anyone else going will either be camping or begging for a rollaway.  Contact Catfish (925-798-0189) if you haven't sent money & plan to make this ride.  See page 5 for ride details.


Contact President René LaPrevotte at 415 883 9092 if you are interested in floor space at the condo he has rented for the Old Highway 40 Hillclimb weekend of August 15-16.  $60/person for the weekend.  It promises to be a great weekend with the following events;

  • 4th annual Pavement Hillclimb Championship: 3 miles, 37 curves, & climbs 1088 feet
  • 2nd annual Dirt Hillclimb Championship: 800 foot course that approaches 50 degrees inclination.
  • Round 2 of the STARRS Super TT(Motard) Triple Crown Series: SuperBikers, ˝ paved, ˝ dirt
  • 2nd annual Invitation Super Trials: 10 best Trials riders in the world are scheduled to compete Saturday & Sunday
  • Thunder Press Battle Trax: A "Run what you brung" event that anyone on anything can enter & run against the clock on a challenging & fun closed course.

Pete Silva, Mark Anderson, & NS guest Steve Demopoulos will all be competing in the hillclimb events.


Special August Club Meeting !

Seldom seen Northstar Bob Anders has scheduled our annual Anchor Steam Brewery club meeting for Wednesday night, August 25th.  This special meeting will start earlier at 6:30pm at 1705 Mariposa Street.  Beer & hot dogs will be served as usual.  Come one, come all.

Flat-Track Event in September !

Hans Koolhoven & HK Cycles have scheduled a BBQ & Flat-Track Night at Club Moto in Livermore for Thursday, September 23rd.  Hans will start BBQing burgers & dogs at Club Moto, 7pm.  Everyone is invited to bring their favorite dirtbikes & motocrossers.  Small bikes are allowed on the 1/8 mile dirt oval with any tires, but larger bikes must have a street/DP tire on the rear.  The MX & dirt oval tracks will be open to the public.  $5.00 spectator or $15.00 rider fees.

The Lost Coast & Trinity Alps Ride
September 25 - 27, 1999

Take the traditional Eureka Ride & on Sunday when Hwy-36 passes by Hwy-3, we turn north on Hwy-3, run through the Trinity Alps Sunday afternoon.  Return home on Monday via Stonyford & Knoxville-Berryessa.  Those who can only do two days, don't turn on Hwy-3 & complete the usual 2-day Eureka ride home on Sunday.  Mark your calendars & don't miss this ride !
